Cinque Terre & Italian Rivera   (4 days/3 nights)
The five villages that make up the "Cinque Terre" cling to the rocky coast where the Alps meet the sea.  These small towns with their colorful houses, narrow streets, and miniature squares are something to admire.  The towns of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso originated as fishing villages in the Middle Ages built at the locations of natural harbors.  The Cinque Terre National Park embraces a stretch of Italy's most spectacular coast, to the east of the northern port of Genoa, where the sheer cliffs of the Appenine Mountains meet the waters of the Mediterranean. The dramatic coastline is scattered with small towns and fishing villages which are dug into cliffs and gullies, suspended high above tiny harbors packed with colorful fishing boats. All the villages are linked by trains and (during the warmer months) by ferries, which give the walker great flexibility. Cinque Terre has become a favorite location for visitors young or old due to it's beauty and uniqueness with breathtaking views from the villages of above.  Cinque Terre is the ideal blend of sea and mountain a rare gem to be discovered by the people that visit this beautiful region.
