Fulvia Sesani hosts an exclusive aristocratic cooking school in her Palazzo Morosini della Trezza, just a stones throw from Piazza San Marco. Fulvia is a former chemist who has written books in Italy and Australia, and articles about her cooking have appeared in numerous magazines. Fulvia is a sought-after contributor to top culinary events. In her cooking classes, Fulvia hands out advice, passes on her knowledge, makes suggestions and tastes the delicacies she has prepared, using her vivid imagination to inject old and new recipes with a dash of originality.
Palazzo Morosini once belonged to a collateral branch of the Morosini family, four of whose members became doges of Venice. In her home, fine paintings, exquisite rugs, valuable objects d'art, intriguing collections of antique silver, wooden and porcelain fish, glasses and chandeliers from Murano, all create a visual feast that is as tempting as the recipes taught in the course.
About the lessons: Students will have plenty of opportunity to explore the city of Venice, including a tour of the Doge's Palace, the Basilica of St. Mark, a private guided visit to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Academia Art Gallery, Murano for a visit to the Nason & Moretti glass factory, a visit to the secret gardens of Venice, to see a collection of antique fans in a private palace. Fulvia takes students on a walk through the picturesque arcades of the Rialto market to visit for her favorite vendors where luscious fruits and vegetables, grown on the islands of the lagoon, are sold, together with Adriatic-caught fish. Fulvia's friends welcome students into their homes, giving them the chance to admire the interiors of palaces on the grand Canal and elegant houses tucked away in picturesque neighborhoods. Also included are dinner at Harry's Bar, Trattoria Alla Madonna and lunches at La Busa and the new Cip's restaurant of the Cipriani Hotel located on Giudecca Island.
