Cooking Lessons in the Italian Riveria
Your stay will be in Sestri Levante is one of the charming small towns of the Italian Riviera, overlooking a lovely, curving peninsula, with a picturesque sandy beach. It is in a prime location to reach the elegant towns of the Riviera as well as the scenic and charming towns of the Cinqueterre. The four-star Grand Hotel Villa Balbi is an aristocratic 17th-century villa in an unsurpassable setting, only a few yards from the beautiful sea of the Gulf of Tigullio. The hotel has a beautiful heated swimming pool in addition to its private beach.
About the lessons: You will have the opportunity to learn the Ligurian cuisine from local cooks, taught in a private home. These are certified cooks, whose pleasure is to pass on their traditional regional cuisine. In your two classes you will go through the preparation of a meal.

Sample Program
Day 1
Arrival on your own to Sestri Levante and check in to the beautiful Villa Balbi or Suite Hotel Nettuno. An afternoon meeting with your tour guide. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2
Following breakfast, you will go with your guide by train to your first cooking class of traditional pastas and sauces, followed by lunch of your efforts. *Please note that in summer months, classes will be held in the afternoon, and excursions in the morning. In the afternoon you will take the train to Santa Margharita, with its beautiful harbor, and then on by boat to Portofino, one of Italy’s most romantic little nooks, for tours of both these charming towns. Return by boat to the hotel where you will have a wine tasting of the famous schiacchetrà wine of the Cinque Terre.
Day 3
After breakfast, your second cooking class of traditional Ligurian fish and desserts, again lunch of your efforts following. After eating, the start of your introduction to the Cinque Terre. You begin with a train to Riomaggiore for a
guided visit of the easternmost of the towns. A walk to Manarola through the “Via dell’Amore,” for a visit of this village. A train to visit Monterosso, with some free time for shopping as well. Return by train to your hotel for your final Farewell Dinner.
Day 4
Breakfast and check out.
Day Cooking course - Ligurian specialities
Prepare your own dinner - one afternoon in the relaxing atmosphere of our farmhouse Villa near Levanto In our beautiful farmhouse "Villa" in a very panoramic location in the middle of olive tree fields and vineyards near to Levanto we offer you every Tuesday an interesting cooking course "hands on" during the afternoon. The secrets of the Ligurian cuisine will be introduced to you during the preparation of your own dinner. The course will be held by Mamma Piera, the mother of the farmhouse owner or by Alberto, a young cook from Genoa. You will have a lot of fun while preparing the authentic ligurian dishes as for example the Pansoti con salsa di noci. In the relaxing atmosphere of the Villa and its surrounding gardens; and accompanied by a good wine you will enjoy an unforgettable afternoon and with the little group of your "classmates" you will have a very delicious dinner.
Private airport transfers are available upon request
Available on request for a minimum of 2 people. Preferred starting dates are Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday, but other dates may be available on request.

Return: after dinner
